1.1. The Chair welcomed Members and members of the public to the meeting.
1.2. Apologies for absence were received from Jack Sargeant AM, Siân Gwenllian AM and Gareth Bennett AM. David Melding AM substituted for Mark Isherwood AM for items 6 and 7.
2.1. The Committee received evidence from:
· Julie James AM, Leader of the House and Chief Whip
· Christine Grimshaw, Head of VAWDA Team, Welsh Government
· Jo-Anne Daniels, Director, Communities and Tackling Poverty, Welsh Government
2.2. During the evidence session, the Leader of the House and Chief Whip agreed to provide:
· A copy of the document that contains information on the various strategies, frameworks and sustainable funding documents associated with the Act;
· A commentary on the progress of implementation of the recommendations from the Committee’s 2016 post-legislative scrutiny report;
· A budget list to outline the proportion which supports projects and initiatives resulting from the Act;
· Details on the number of children who have accessed Hafan’s services;
· Details on the progress of implementing Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) as a statutory part of the curriculum, following correspondence with the Cabinet Secretary for Education;
· Details on the number of people that have accessed the “Ask and Act” training;
· Links to each of the published local strategies;
· Details on the draft data that will be collected as part of the National Indicators;
· Details on the timescales for establishing the sustainable funding model.
3.1.a The Committee noted the additional information from the Welsh Local Government Association in relation to the Welsh Government Draft Budget 2019-20.
4.1. The Committee agreed the motion
5.1. The Committee discussed the evidence and agreed to write to the Leader or the House and Chief Whip on a number of matters raised.
6.1. The Committee agreed the order of consideration for the Renting Homes (Fees etc.) (Wales) Bill ahead of Stage 2 proceedings.
7.1. The Committee discussed and agreed the draft report, subject to changes.
